I have been following the controversy regarding Udta Punjab with amusement from last few days , all so called voice of the people news channels , out of work actors and actresses , producer and directors all had a free for all on this topic on various news channels. I read the reviews today all over . Happiness the movie was finally released. What has this movie changed , will this movie solve the problem that is inflicting Punjab. How many people living in Punjab and outside Punjab are going to take up this fight. What part of the producer , actors and directors income is going towards fighting this menace?
I have lived and studied in Delhi. I have friends from Ludhiana to London who are Sikh and Punjabi’s. My introduction to my young son about Punjabi’s is Roti , Butter Chicken , Lassi , Rajma , Bhangara , Dhol and spirit to live life whatever happens.They dont beg but whenever their is natural disaster or a human tragedy they extend their hands to Support.
Last but not the least i want my vision of Punjab as Sarsoon ke khet , makke ki roti , happy faces , fighters and people who relish jokes made on them . Am i ready to change that image not sure. Every state has an underbelly ………….

While I share your feelings of what Punjab was for a generation(s) gone by, the reality cannot be masked by any stretch of imagination. The state is in a crisis and all help, awareness and support for one of the most magnanimous people and state should be extended. No politics and blame game on this.Please.
